ABS actuator leak..???
I have a 93 Nissan Maxima SE with 80K miles on it. It has ABS. I saw parking brake light come my yesterday. Then today I had really floor the brake to stop vehicle... Looked like braking system has lost all the pressure...!!
So I open the hood and found the brake fluid has gone below min mark. After putting some brake fluid the parking brake light went off.. I thought I fixed the problem
But WTF... No pressure...!!!
So now I see some break fluid leak near the ABS actuator...
Looks like there might be some thing wrong with Actuator... What do I do now..
There are not much hints in facotry manual...!!! Did any one had similar problem,
I think local auto repair shops may not be able to help given that it is ABS...!!! or can THEY???
Please HELP...........!!!

sounds like the ABS pump is toast.. it's a fairly common problem with these cars- but you need to be able to figure out if it's the pump itself or a line going into the pump.
most likely if it's leaking, you need to just replace it and go on. you can pick up used ones from local junkyards by searching www.car-part.com
mechanics that specialize in brakes (DO NOT take it to Meineke, Just Brakes, Midas, etc though!!!!!) but go to a private shop that specializes in brakes and seek their advice if you need more help.
I'll be glad to give any advice I can, but you can only do so much over the internet. nothing substitutes a good mechanic's eyes, ears, and hands on the car.

Yes, this week I had similar problem.
But in my car there was no presure because of the lines under the car. The lines are made from steel, so they go rusted and must be replaced, prefered with copper ones as I did.

thanks for the quick reply.
This is what I found out.. from the repair shop.. Looks like both ABS actuator and all rear Calipers are leaking...!!!
I guess only option is to replace them
The probelm is to find the repair shop which will replace junk/used parts for me...!! Most of them insist on getting parts on their own..!!!
Now I have done some work on my car... like replacing condenser and replacing driver wheel bearing...
Can I do replacement work my self or is it lot of risk...?
how about getting used calipers ??

Yes. Most shops want to use their own parts:
1) Because they can't guarantee their work if they use parts that the customer brings in. Especially used
2) They lose a markup source.
If you don't want to do your own work (which on brakes understandable), then you are stuck with finding a good honest repair shop.
I could probably do this work just because I've taken off the actuator before. It's fairly easy.

I have got used one from car-part.com for $100. I hope it is going to work when I put it... Thanks for the offer...
Did you replace ABS brake pump by your self..? I just want to know how do I empty the brake fluid... as brake system is closed and under pressure...
I guess I need to bleed the brakes once I put the abs brake pump
