Car shakes when breaks are applied ... ?

If anybody knows what might cause it.
When breaks are applied steering wheel start shaking (higher speed - more noticeable). Seems that it is coming from the front right side.
I have checked breaks and nothing seems to be wrong.
The only thing ... I measured rotors and they appear to be a little thicker in comparison with OEM recommended.
Any ideas?

uhh... did you measure them with a school ruler?

Discard spec is .787 in. (nominal is .9xx IIRC from my Bendix book.)

get them turned. check for pad wear, maybe install pads.

ha-ha!!! school ruler

pads are new and rotors (bendex) are 1y old and still look perfect ... the whole year long they were just fine - I have no idea what happened, one day car just started to shake with no reason at all

did you ride the brakes for some time? that does it. did you stop from a fast speed quickly? that'll do it. rotors aren't exactly all the awesome when it comes to staying true....

yeap - for 1 year ... when it started to shake, I replaced pads - but it didn't help (but rotors look like new)
so you suggest to replace rotors?

this indicates 9 times out of 10 that the rotors are warped. i've been doing brakes for about a year and i've never replaced a caliper... pretty robust little buggers.

I had the same problem on my mom's '96, turnred out that the rotors were warped 'cause the pins were seized. I figured it's worth checking befor he replaces or turns the rotors and the same thing happens! I really felt like an a**.

no, everything esle is in good condition (I replaced struts last September - so had a chance to check everything).
I think, I'll simply replace both rotors ...
