Temp gauge Problem

Hey guys, I'm having a problem with the Temp gauge. For some reason it just sits there not doing anything but every once in a while it will jump up to half. Seeing as that I have had so many problems over the years with leaky rads I realy hate not being able to see how hot the engine is running. Do I have to replac something to get this to work again or is something just loose? My brother in law mentiones that it can be a loose hose. What do tou guys think?

Your coolant temperature sensor is most likely the problem. The connector can become corroded so you may want to try cleaning it before replacing it.

I''m having the same problem OP. On mine, it's just the sensor that is bad. For now, I press on the glass in front of the temp gauge to get it back.

It is on the coolant pipe on the left side of the engine near the coolant temp sensor. I had the same problem except it would stay at halfway and flick to C. I went to check the connector and it broke off. I fut a new one on and it hasn't happened since.

Christ was that ever a mess it was covered in a swear like half an inch of gunk. Cleaned it up with my pocket knife. And to think my wife makes fun of me for carrting it around on my keays all the time lol.
