ut oh... metal shavings cant be good

I did the ole Jeffy check (pull the oil cap and take a gander) and well....

I kind of noticed a wierd spot on the cam, so I wanted to feel if it was smooth or not, didn't really feel a difference, but I looked at my finger and there were metal shavings on it. wtf!

Round two: try again. yeap, more metal shavings on my finger. ummmmmm.....

I'll be pulling the valve cover later tonight, I'm not liking this though.

How does the engine run? Oil level. Don't listen to Matt. Looks like he would like to do the "rubbing" haha

you need a better oil filter, and a magnetic drain plug.

Jeff, Engines running good, oil level's ok. I add abit every now and then because of the front seal (waiting for UDP lol). It has never gone really low while I've owned the car because of how you say it really effects the life of the engine. I'm also careful not to overfill it though, hmmm.

Brian, meh, I'll look into the drain plug. My oil filter is a Napa Gold....

Matt, if I was local I'd be around your garage just as much

I wasn't able to pull the valve cover and check things out today, I will tommarrow. I'll see whats up

yeah, not to sure what the deal was.
It wasn't on a cam lobe.

I didnt check the rear head, I'll do that some other time (ie. VTC time).
Basically I checked the oil, no metal, checked the inside of the head, no metal. It was just on the intake cam around that area where the filler cap goes. hmmm.

Really strange. Atleast I have that spare motor, just incase.
