Manual tranny noise?

Manual tranny noise?
92 se 5spd.
Low grinding noise from front driver's side, increases with acceleration in all gears. Goes away when I take my foot off the pedal or push the clutch in. I was wondering if it may be a bearing or something in the tranny. I had a wrong NAPA driver's axle in for about 6 months; then I put in one for an automatic tranny and it fit perfectly.
Any thoughts are very appreciated. Thanks!

i just read motorvate.ca and i'm thinking it might be my differential carrier bearing which might have been damaged when i had the wrong axle from NAPA installed causing too much pre-load on it. my axle seal seems to be leaking despite installing a new one recently. i was very careful not to tear it.
the clunk-clunk grinding sound increases in speed when i accelerate and is noticeable in all gears, especially in 1st and 2nd.
any other thoughts?
