bad mileage w/ new WSP y pipe
bad mileage w/ new WSP y pipe
i installed my WSP Y pipe a few days ago... now my car seems to be getting slightly worse mileage. it doenst sound like theres a leak or anything. does it just take awhile for the o2 sensor to get use to the new flow or do you think i didnt tighten it in enough??
thanks

I just put mine on and if it wasn't tight enough you would be able to tell...believe me. My install went great 'cept for the very last nut on the Cat was all stripped, so I forced a slightly wrong size nut on to hold it till I could replace the stud. The leak was maybe a 1/16th wide and 2 inches long, but man was that puppy loud.
I got it fixed and it quieted down a lot. As for the Gas mileage I haven't noticed a change, but I've done all city driving since the install.

well i still get decent mileage, and it seems to be stablizing alittle bit. i usually dont drain my take but when i do i get 300-325 but when i do that im literally running on fumes, the pump i always go to has once pumped 15.91 gallons into my 16 gall on tank haha
The fuel light is junk.. it sometimes comes on when you are near empty but mine usually comes on when I have like a gallon or 2 left... but I usually try to fill up before it gets to 1/4 tank so it only takes like $20-25 to fill up...
my fuel light has come on once since I've had the car.
I was on an upward incline in a parking garage. driving
other than that it's never come on including when I've run out of gas

mine light comes on when there is about 4.5 gallons left, and kind of goes off and on every few miles.... after that.... not sure why, but it seems to come on about the same time every time, so i know when anyhow....

a theory already mentioned here is the lead foot. you do lose some bottom end with the y-pipe. so it takes a bit more to get up to the powerband. plus, the lead foot comes into play because you like the feeling of the extra power and want to use it. this is what i experience.
