hood wont open, any ideas?

Umm ok so I have my airbox, MAF, resonator, and accordian hose outside of my car, so I can't drive my it. Problem is i cant really put them back in right now because my HOOD WONT OPEN!!!! It dropped shut (the hydraulic props are weak and sometimes drop. Usually not a huge problem) while I was doing work.

But I went to open it and i CANT! When I pull the hood release it pulls out but doesnt really hit anything or open anything, I think it feels sorta like my hood is already open. BUT ITS NOT! I have made sure its shut all the way and evenly on both sides, I tried getting someone to lift up while I pull the release mechanism... and thats about it. It just wont pop up when I pull. really I don't know what to even try.

So I guess what I'm asking is, does anyone have any ideas of what I can do to at least get it OPEN? i dont even know where to start >=(. My cars been ****ing me OFF lately, I was FINALLY making progress in alleviating my hesitation stalling and idle problems and now this

sounds like ur hood release wire snapped... i don't know where in particular did it snap.. maybe it snapped where it connects to the latch. u can try reaching a pair of pliers into the grille and pull on where the wire is supposed to pull on the latch.. but i think u'll have to pull quite hard, and with the grille in the way... it's be quite a stunt to pull off.. no pun intended
