LOL yeah all those that say a V6 Maxima sounds like a V8 with true duals has not heard any of my V8s (Nova, Chevelle, Camaro) with dual 3" exhaust and 2 chamber flowmasters.

I am not saying the Maxima cant have a nice deep growl to it but it just doesnt sound the same to me.

in regards to exhaust,
you can go to burlington and have budget exhaust make you a system or you can go to markham and have brullen exhaust make you a system.
brullen has a better reputation than budget, it's closer to barrie and they make better quality pieces in my opinion.
both these places have done a fair amount of maximas in the last few years. its really your choice though.
you also can talk to a local shop in barrie and see if they can make an exhaust for you.
and lastly you can order wsp or greddy exhaust systems from the states.

It won't be even close.

Having owned a few V8's in my time and with dual exhausts on them all, I will agree that there is NO WAY the Max (or any V6) will ever sound as sweet as a good dual exhaust system on a V8.

And that's not to say the Max has a bad sound, at least when they're not ricey, which IMO is

Why would anybody care to try to make their v6 import sound like a v8 anyway?

That's just dumb, and sounds dumb as well. Fake v8 sound sucks - as evidenced by poser v6 Camaro's

I'm gonna go with the GReddy guys on this one

right click and save as please.

I'm going to try and snag my sisters camera to take some better vid's though.

94_sin_city_max, do you have dual straight pipes?

Let us hear it, I was thinking of headers and dual straight pipes but I don't want it to sound like ****.

I have .490 lift cam, Pete Jackson gear drive and dual straight pipes on my Impala and it sounded sweet, who needs mufflers or cats on a sbc?

well its technically unincorperated King County but still, yes I have emissions
I already tested this year (well and for next cause I think they only make you do it once every 2 years). One of these days I'm going to put the cat back in it just because with the cat in the car sounds just a smidge deeper than stock.

I'm sure it is deeper, which is why I would like a better sound clip. However, with the weather like it is today, I don't expect one today.

It's not. He's referring to my setup. I do get some odd resonances but not very often. With a resonator, it would be VERY, VERY quiet.

no, it just has some resonations in it, thats all.
its not that big of a deal. I just think a resonator will get rid of them.

I have Warpspeed y-pipe, hight flow cat no res, and 2.5 into dual exhuast, mufflers are very similar to the 300zx exhuast,(not big fart pipes). Its pretty throaty, just normal driving it sounds awesome, but once u get into higher revs, speciall over 6000 (jwtchip) its really loud. A little louder than i wanted but still sounds mean. all depends what ur lookin for.

Anyone know if a test pipe on an otherwise stock exhaust system will change the tone? I know it'll relieve a minute amount of back pressurre, but with everything else being stock, I'm guessing it'll still sound the same.
