Ever since I put my CAI on I get this high pitch whistle at low-mid RPM's during acceleration.....Only while driving tho...if car is parked and I rev engine it don't do it.... sometimes it will go away like if I slow my acceleration down but still accel....or if i go WOT(wide open throttle) it will go away(or I just can't hear it over intake/exhaust) I'm thinking I need to seal the connection between the 3"adapter and MAF....I think air is squeezing through that, hint the whistling... any help is appreciated, if someone has experienced this or know how I could track down an intake leak it would save me some time =)

Mines from Cosmo Racing(canadian probably why) I don't mind the whistle either.....But after hearing it so long I just want it to go away....I start to get annoyd of sounds I hear and they must be stopped at all cost after a while or I go insane.

Solution: Turn up the stereo, it makes all annoying sounds go away.
How do you have the MAF adaptor attached? If it's secured to the MAF, and the gasket is in place, that's probably as good as it's going to get. But if you're that determined, a bead of silicone will make a nice seal. The whistle is more likely being generated by the airflow in the intake, rather than a leak. The air just happens to be traveling at a rate which resonates at a certain frequency and makes a whistle sound. That's the whole reason they use an airbox, and intake resonator/silencer from the factory, because it makes the intake quiet. Part of the trade off with opening up the intake is more sound, good and bad. Do make sure that all your connections are well sealed though, and make sure to check them when the engine is warm as well. What's sealed with a cold engine, might not be sealed when it's warmer.

Just found a wire brush inside the hose that connects to the tube over the engine and to the intake....what sort of problems would this cause me? bad mileage?

wire brush? you mean that mesh screen in the MAF?
But yeah, my cone intake whistles a bit too. It shouldn't be a problem.

It's been fairly well shown that the whistle on VE's shows up right as the VI opens, but I've heard it on GXEs as well, just not as well pronounced.
