pcv valve question?

pcv valve question?

is it true that you need to buy another part to replace/install a new pcv valve? like an extension hose or sumthing? what is it exactly? thanx

i didn't...i just replaced the pcv valve a couple months ago and everything went smooth. my mileage got a hair better too

nope...just carefully take of the hose on the new one.....unscrew the old valve, screw the new one in....carefully put hose back on new one.....should only take 5 minutes or so

no other parts needed..follow smoky's plan and ur set..be sure not to tighten the valve 2 much

ya hehe...never tighten anything too much to the engine....torque it to specification if you have a torque wrench...I've already ****ed up and tightened a bolt too tight on my oil pan and *snap* I got half a bolt in my engine!! pcv valve would be alot harder to snap tho because its pretty thick......all in all, easy installation....and if its a bad valve your replacing, you'll be glad you replaced it, new valve is $6
