Depends on how it mounts.

I'd guess, same way as it would on a Maxima.

Since you want to be really vague, I'm gonna go ahead and say NO. Why don't you go to the rack's manufacturer's website and see what you need for a 3rd gen, and then see what you need for an Avalon, and compare? That's what I did when I bought a Yakima rack.

more than likely yes, if it's a Yakima. You'll need 2 new pairs of clips (Q20's), which will set you back less than $50 total. As Mizeree said, check first, but I would guess it does.

It's hard to check on something that you have not got a hold of, yeah? I would not have been asking you guys, if I owned the rack or at least saw it with my own eyes. I have no idea what brand, model or year that rack is, other than that it is from a 2-4 year old Avalon. But of course it is easy to teach everyone manners. Thanks.

So, its impossible for you to figure out because you don't know the brand, model or year of the rack, yet somehow we should be able to figure it out with the exact same lack of information? If someone "offered" you the rack, why don't you call that someone and ask what brand / model it is?

My manners are impeccable, by the way.

The rack from 1998-2000 Avalon fits on a 93' Maxima roof just fine. I bought it today and we installed it no problem. The only thing to remember is that Maxima roof can only hold up to 50 KG or weight

roof racks, are generally universal. if you had said that earlier we may have said that it should work. but you didn't even give us that much to work with

I prefer those trunk style racks, they generally fit on everything from SUV's to wagons to sedans.

mine has been on the following:
-1992 Accord (origonally purchased for)
-1985 Cutlass wagon
-1993 Maxima SE
-1998 Durango (just test fitted, it has roof racks so my Dad gave it to me, but we wanted to see if it would fit anyway)
-1998 Scooby Outback
-1999 Surburban (again just test fitted, we have one of those towing reciever racks)
-1991? (who knows, who cares) Plymoth Voyager

not that it matters because I just read through the rest of the thread and it works, but still.

In connection to that, I may be seling one of the bike racks from the kit. I only need the roof rack itself and maybe three bike racks (those that came installed on the crossbars) and the 4th one has never been used, just a bit dusty from several years sitting in the garage. That would be the one for sale. PM me with the offers.

sorry to bring up an old thread but since the search function is eliminated, and i can't post a new thread until i hit 15 posts, i'd figure i'd at least post to what is relevant for my goal. and that is to sell some yakima roof racks for the 89-94 maxima's that my parents had back in the day.

um, you're violating the terms of service.
you aren't allowed to come on here strictly for the purpose of selling unless you are a sponsor.

why not? i've got a set of yakima racks that is specifically for the third gen maxima. of course i could be much more discrete about this if i was allowed to be able to search specifically. and i don't want to make 15 bull**** posts that won't contribute anything. do i look nigerian to you? am i offering new mortgage rates? how about viagra, cialis, or xanax?
