coil packs JDM

coil packs JDM

I still have the old coil packs that came out of my jdm motor when i swapped...I put in the original coil packs from my first engine back into the jdm engine because i thought they were different... anyone know if they are interchangeable, I know the part numbers are different, the jdm is 97e10 and ones im usin are 97e05.... any help?

hmm...or anyone able to check which coil pack numbers you are using to maybe help me out? anyone thats done a jdm swap might know?

Jeff might be able to help you soon...I think he is nearing completion of my JDM swap

Jeff did mention that they were different, but last I talked to him, he hadn't said if they were usuable or not. I would think they are, but I really have no idea and can't verify this.

I think Subs1000 did the JDM swap. Spipedong90 did his a few months ago, as well.

i left the coil packs that came in the jdm engine in and they work fine

ok thanks...you probably just cant mix and match eh?

honestly i dont see why you couldnt mix and match its not like the ecu could sence the jdms are different from the usdms

true but Id rather ask incase using a jap one might do something...Id rather get the professionals help which is why I ask here before I do anything Im unsure off

I know how to test if a coil pack is bad, I just dont have the ohmeter, I noticed that all 3 front coil packs from my jdm motor all have cracks in about 2-3inches long...does this mean i should not use those?

anyone explain to me what exactly a cracked coil pack is? is it literally got a crack on it,...i noticed 3 of my spares have a crack from near the top, and down 3 inches....does this mean they are cracked and therefor bad?
