neon lights

this guy put neons on my car before i got it. i had to get my cousin to switch from fog light button (which he took out fog lights) to a toggle switch. Then my neons stopped working. How can I find out whats wrong? My ex boyfriend's cousin said "Girl you gotta take it to a professional 'cause girls dont do it right" So, hopefully with some help i'm gonna prove him wrong.

there's not a whole lot we can help you with since that's something aftermarket so we have no idea how the wiring is set up and where it is

On the toggle switch, there are probably 2 prongs on the back (3 if it's lighted). Test the two wires coming in to it. One side should have power (either all the time or just when the car is on, depending on how it is wired). Then turn the switch on and see if the other side gets power. If it doesn't change, then the switch is probably bad (try touching the two wires together to bypass the switch and see if it works.
Other than that, check fuses and follow the wiring from the neons back as far as you can and make sure it's not cut or melted anywhere. If you happen to be near Atlanta sometime (anderson isn't that far), I could probably take a look at it. It's probably something simple but hard to really diagnose over the internet.
