Check out my window switch refab plan.....
Ok so I am posting a thread a second time to clarify that I am not having problems with my window switches but am looking for thoughts/ideas/interest on my recent brainstorm:
Ok for all of you Maxima lovers I am working on refurbishing complete sets of used switches and even color matching the rubbed off white lettering to you dash interior. Anyone that has any thoughts, flames, or general interest let me know.
Shoot me back with ideas or criticism
Here is the longer version with more details
Basically I will be taking tested window switches from 100,000-200,000 cars and re painting the buttons with not a silk screen but a special process that almost stamps the correct paint right on to the switches. The circuit boards will be used but tested, contacts cleaned, dust free and I will make sure everything operates correctly. As I said, I am thinking of using Craigs's auto up MOD (with permission) while I'm in there, and have to work out the details of the led. I would definitely want a bright blue LED so you can see that important midnight drive through switch. The plastic in front of the green light is clear, so all I have to do is change out the proper LED or do a little modifying to get a brighter one in there. I have about 6 tested window switches from the bone yard that I was just going to E-bay, but I think it would be fun to go that extra step. I'm not sure how much such a process would cost, but with all considered and my few hours of research thus far it would be far less than a brand new dealer switch and would have all that special crap that makes us love our cars even more.

Hmmmm.....getting the words to light up.....wow I will difinately look into that but from the way they are designed it may be very difficult, but with some fiber optics I think it could be possible....... I need to give my industrial engineer/toy designer a call and have a chat with him and maybe I will figure something like that out.... I doubt it would be cheap but cool as ****

i would think that if there are no nissan lines that have lit switches that their infiniti counterparts would
