Help...Clutch replacment problem....

How do you guys remove the clutch pilot bushing? Mines seems to be stuck. Thx.

I don't have any specific experience with Maxima's but with the RX-7 (way different car I know...) you need a special tool. Supposedly you can borrow or buy this tool from Pep-Boys or Autozone. (don't recall which) I think it's just called a Pilot bearing removal tool. Basically it's just a device that you put in and expand it behind the bearing then use the attached "slide hammer" to knock it out.

clutch

What do you have to work with when you removed your transmission? Jack stands? Transmission Jack?

When I did the clutch on my '85 5.0 Mustang I swore that it would be the last one I did, but the Max trans is not a T5, though it does not look like a lightweight. Can you tell me / us your disassembly experience so far?
