just got a rebuilt on my tranny

...and now every now and then, after traveling at a constant speed, and then trying to accerlerate a little more, the car just starts to shake a little bit. it only lasts about like 2-3 sec, because i let go of the throttle when it does this. however, it doesn't do this often. luckily, i have a 1 year waranty on the rebuild. but is there a term for this? is this the definition of "slipping"? if not, what is that then?

it kinda seems like it shifted too early into the higher gear and its not in the proper gear....but i could be completely wrong.

Ok when a tranny slips it will rev the engine with little or no movement of the car. IF it is slipping bad enough the car may not move. Or it may just slip in a certain gear. When it slips you will fear a decrease in pull and the motor is just reving. Its becase it is sliping not making full contact.

I hope you can underastand from that.

i think i do...and i guess thats what messed up my tranny to start with. i was going with a friend of mine, and then suddenly i heard the engine rev really high (i was already flooring it) and then it seemed like it went into neutral.

take it back and have them look at it cuz that tranny is not gonna last u at all and im willin' to put money on it thats it not gonna last u. ur better off gettin' a used one or just convert it to a 5-speed cuz i had that same symptom with my last two auto trannies when mine use to be auto and the first tranny got rebuilt and did the same thing as urs is doin' now and when i had the second used tranny installed it gave me that same problem and it wasn't rebuilt and that one didn't last me. so if i were u take it back to them and let them drive it and they should fix it for u.

good luck,
rick
