Driver Seat Belt Stuck [Please Help]

The driver side seat belt on my '92 maxima is stuck in the forward position. I know how to hand wind it back to the rear position, however, it will return to the forward position when I open the door, so that is only a temp solution. Anyone have any ideas, is there a fuse or something that will control the movement? The motor still functions as it returns to the front, it just won't move to the back when I close my door and start the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

If ya didn't know, your seat belt has a lifetime warranty. In you situation I think it would fit under that. I'd take it to stealership and see if they can fix it for free.

Thanks for the advice. Just spoke with the stealership, warranty on seatbelt defects started w/model year 1989 so apparently I'm covered. Taking it in tomorrow - will let you know. Thanks again

I called my stealership about my seat belt, but fraying isn't a warranty item. The stuck mechanism is, though. They wanted me to pay for the seat belts, because my wear and tear frayed them.

I believe they are pushing your buttons and see what they can get away with. They're hoping they can bs you as much as they can. I agree if they won't fix the belt call nissan.

I'm so glad when I had my problem with my belt that I didn't have to go through what some of you are goinn through. They just said ok and made me wait two hours to complete the job.

good luck!
