no you don't....well at least from my experiences I think they are overplayed POS. why too unecessary for the daily driven car IMO, plus a ***** to "properly" setup fully.

The Greddy Profec EBC's are supposed to be pretty simple and reliable; not too hard to set up, but still functional.

There's another one thats integrated into a 60mm gauge that looks awesome, but the manufacturer escapes me right now.

If you have the cash, why not? They're not difficult to set up and they're not a ***** to tune. It's nice being able to adjust your boost from teh cabin too.

its even more reason if you have the cash...save money and buy a decent EBC(or DSMBC for that matter) and be happy, spend the rest on something else. IMO for guys making only 250hp or so its pointless...I'll take my old used HKS EVCIII over it anyday.. people talk about all these bling, bling electronics but have no real reason to have them. big deal, gear dependence and multiple stages is nice, but if you have traction issues, get better tires. from my experience all these flashy electronics are not needed for half the guys who shell out $400+ for it.

So what if you pay $300 for a NEW APEXI that not only preforms better (sure some functions aren't going to be used) and looks 100 times better a used hks evsIII. For what to save what about 125-150. I will keep my set up. Plus with upgraded turbo (that I have) it will be more the 250hp.

I'd say so too on the SBC-ID. and I'll be the first to admit I'm just cheap (but efficient) but all of our projects have gone well without dumping mad money into big time brands and stuff like that. we have an SR making 364 using a $65 **** style MBC...cheap yet highly effective, the money saved on things that aren't exatcly necessary adds up in the end is all I'm trying to get at.
