battery light in dash dimmly lit......guessing it's the alternator

I replaced it a few years ago, but now I am running 2 JL W-0 with a phoenix gold amp so I am guessing it's dead or dying (thank God for the Optima Battery). I am taking it in to my local parts store to get it tested so we'll see. I did buy it and the product has a lifetime warranty. I just hope I don't need the reciept to the store that I picked it up at (I should be in the computer hopefully cuz I bought it there). I'm sure you guys know about this, so fill me in.
