It has a wire mesh screen that is under the pan. The problem is that the trans is sort of up-side-down, and the pan is on the top. You can't get to it without pulling everything apart. Don't bother trying. It's the sort of thing that you would change if you already had the transmission put and apart.

yeah its inside the tranny and you don't have to change it...

just curious how you are doing a tranny flush yourself? do you mean just changing the fluid cause that's not a flush...

I am doing the drain and refill thing.......but I was also considering the other method...the one that you pull the hose the is going to the radiator and then fill in from the dipstick tube until the fluid comes out red from the hose. you think this will work?

It works fine. Just make sure you pull the return line (closest to the drivers side), and do it 2 qts at a time.

the return line??

I thought I would have to pull the line that is going from the tranny to the radiator not the other way around? I maybe wrong but I just want to make sure I don't screw this up.
please correct me if I am wrong.

There are two line that run between the transmission and the radiator. You want the return line so that the heat excahanger in the radiator is also flushed out.
