Big brake Kits?

I saw a post on this awhile back, but since search is disabled, I can't find it now.

I'm buying new wheels and tires for my 89. I'm getting 18" rims.

A previous discussion on the subject of large brakes involved a kit using brakes from a Nissan Z car?

would the bolt pattern be the same for the Maxima as the big brake kits?

I'd kind of hate to spend 1500.00 on wheels and tires only to find oput I can;t mod the brakes later.......

It's very much so possible you can buy 18" wheels and still not clear BBK. It's all in the design of the wheel not the diameter of the wheel. In due time you'll find your options when it comes to installing a BBK on your Max. There's couple of options here on the board you can choose from, then there's always after-market vendors out there that also have kits for our Max

the big thing on the BBKs that are made by matt and jeff is to clear the 4 piston Z32 caliper.
that is mainly a feature of spoke design.

the big thing to worry about is spoke clearance. see that page just above the picture of the brakes on the car and I describe how to measure everything to see if it will fit.

don't bother with 18s on our cars either. IMO, they're too big. 17 are big enough, the tires are a lot cheaper, and they do better on the track. You also have a much larger selection of tires.
