VG30E Oil filter and oil?

VG30E Oil filter and oil?
I saw the thread about VE30DE oil filters but is that the same as for the VG30E? If not, what oil and filter are recommended? I really don't mind spending money on this as long as I can rely on my engine. I don't mind using the gas, maybe a racing oil would be better..? Give me your opinions!
on mobil1, take care of what you got, spend a few xtra bucks

OK, excuse an outsider like me (swedish with bad english 
) but have I got it right like this:
'Regular' (mineral) oil: Castrol GTX
Syntethic oil: Mobil1
What about the oil filter..?
Also, about syntethic oil... Spoke to a friend who said if you have hydraulic valve lifters you shouldn't use syntethic oil when the car gets old, any sense in that?

Just try to stay away from Fram, Penzoil, and STP filters, IMHO. Some people say that the Purolator ones from Pep Boys are not bad, and they are the one of the cheapest ones (price wise) out there.

Me too, using the OEM filter at the moment. Still feel my baby is worth something extra so I'm gonna go with the Mobil 1 filter I think. Not sure about the oil though... Downside is that syntethic oil may be bad for old engines, upside is that it's really good in very cold temperatures (considering sweden has about 6 cold months a year...)

If your engine is in good health and doesn't currently have any oil leaks you should be okay to use a synthetic oil.
Racing oil (like Redline) isn't better or needed unless you're running it up to really high RPM on a regular basis. Even then, any good synthetic is often good enough.
For filters basically just stay away from Frams or re-labelled Frams (like aminus21 mentioned). Usually they make cheap generic filters and "private label" them for some company or store to re-sell. There are many good filter brands available, but if you're unsure you can always ask here, as we probably don't know what's available in Sweden.
If you haven't already, check out the Fluids and Lubricants section too.
