Pics: AE shift **** and Ichibahn ebrake handle and boots installed

EDIT: By the way my post is made it looks like I am saying the boots are Ichibahn too. They are not...they are the Redline boots here.

For Shawn mostly since he asked last night.

Look past the dirty interior mainly because I am putting my black carpet in eventually (after it warms up some more). I am also going to put my other painted interior pieces in (like the shifter surround) later after I fix the radio trim that I messed up.

I got the boots a long time ago (thanks DanNY) and used the shifter boot but never used the e-brake boot.

Over all I like the look a lot and the e-brake handle is nice and is real leather.

I dont like the black button but have another one somewhere that I can put on if I can find it. I also am going to drill some holes and tap the e-brake handle shaft under the handle. I dont like the type of fasteners it uses because they can slip. I will drill the holes, tap them and put the screws into it and it will not move from there.

I have 4 pics. two from the side of the car (one each of the e-brake up and down) and two from the opened sunroof (again one up and one down). The lighting is not the best for pics since its so sunny today but you can at least see how well the two match.

On with the pics:

Its supposed to warm back up to the 60s and low 70s next week so I will probably put the AE pedals in then and hopefully the carpet.

That does look very nice. Somewhere down the road, I am going to have to do something about my shifter, ebrake and the like.

hmm I am pretty sure I have a stock shifter. My AE sits in the same spot as my stock **** did or so it seems.

Oh yeah I wanted to add: To those thinking of doing the e-brake handle you need to make sure this is really what you want to do. You have to take the old ebrake handle off. The wrapped leather and the rubber handle under that. I had no problem with that because I have a spare but its something to think about if you consider doing this. I knew this going in and experimented on my old brown ebrake I had (wasnt going to use a brown ebrake handle on anything) to see what had to be done to put an aftermarket handle on.

or maybe the button on the stock ebrake handle can be painted silver to match the anniversary ****, and also add the boot - it should give it a nice touch for those who dont want to rip out the entire handle. That silver painted trim looks good, id love to try it on mine but im too afraid to rip off the wood kit thats already on there from when i bought the car

and yeah the stock baseball **** and anniv **** are the same size but my old **** screwed down farther on the shifter so thats probably why

i tried taking the ebrake handle out of my 1989 2 years ago and both of the floor bolts snapped in half... must have been rusted to the chassis underneath the heat shield... BE CAREFUL!!!

meh hehehehhe

I really like the way the shifter surround came out, it looks like it could be stock, I think the color is perfect

I need to finish up my other projects with the car before I buy anything else. I'm starting to turn into Jeff hehehehehe

I'll probably but the shifter boot and e-brake boot from Dan aswell, I made my own shift boot but its too thick (kind of a fake leather vinyl material) and the outter ring doesnt seat all the way down

maybe i'll just install my katzkins aswell what do you use to condition yours again?

Well I am not going to spend any time on it because I am either puttin my black carpet from my 93 in it or I am going to buy new black carpet.

Thanks for the idea thought though. I will keep it in mind if I decide to put it in the 93 (if I swap carpets instead of buying new).
