Bent my hood at the track today

Yeah I finaly got a chance to run the car at the track. It was a 1/8 a mile track though. I Try to lauch and next thing I know the dam hood comes up and buckels on both side in the middle. I knew I had a broke mount up front but It just gave all the way. Well My trap speeds were ok (77mph) but my times sucked due to lots of wheel spin. VE's what kind of 60ft times are you doing? And does anyone know where I can get polyurethane motor mounts for a vg? Or Am i going to have to make them?

I do polyurathane motor mounts, as well as sandblasting and painting. If anyone is interested, let me know.

How long will it take for you to make an insert for just the front mount? I need one bad. I have cash on hand but I really don't want to spend 50+ for a new OE when I can get something cheaper.

Can you post all the info from the timeslip like 60', 330', 1/8 ET/MPH. A 77mph trap is really high for a VG that is NA.

umm I would not like to post a slip yet as it was not near what I wanted it to be.And my car has not been tuned at all yet so im going to 1/4 track when I can get a nice time slip to show everyong. Yeah I would say that 77 is realy high for a na vg too. look at the sign. Although im only running like 5 to 6psi now. I got to work on my launch. The only thing that I will tell is my 60ft were like 2.55 . Witch is sucky.

i will take a guess and say you ran between 10 and 11 secs in the 1/8 which would be between 15 and 16 in the 1/4

but your traping at a low low 9sec (1/8) 14sec (1/4) level

i would estimate your making somwhere in the 190 - 200whp range which is not to bad for a low boost VG and theres a very good chance you would beat my N/A VE from a roll

NOW GET SOME TRACTION

well Im not so sure About that.I have a whole in my crossover pipe that is hurting me on boosting, But by some chance it may be keeping me from blowing a motor at the same time because of no fuel mods yet. Im going to fix the pipe after I ge my safc this week. Also my max weights like 3620 with me in it.Witch I took all of the speakers and weight out on sunday( I ran on the track saturday)I wieght it today and with me not in it It weight 3200 with a 1/4 a tank. So ill retry once i get the fuel mods and can go by to 7 psi with the weight being back to a noraml maxima.Oh yeah thanks subs

A normal VE 5spd can do 2.2 - 2.3s with a decent driver. I am doing 2.1s in my auto NA VE. I hope to be doing 2.0s when I have everything finished this Feb.

77mph is a nice trap speed for the 1/8 mile. I am doing 2.1 60 foots with a 9.34 @ 75mph 1/8 mile and a 14.57 @ 93.6mph 1/4 mile. But since I'm a VE auto, my gearing and powerband are SO different than yours. So it's hard to compare. But for a turbo VG, if you aren't getting 2.1s on street tires, don't be satisfied!

I do consistent 2.1x 60fts in my car on street tires. practice with the clutch and you should get better. don't just rev it up and dump the clutch.. learn to slip it a bit, just before tire spin. it takes practice, but can be done... I've only gone to the strip 3-4 times and never beat on it off the line around town and can still get consistently decent 60ft times...

But your suspension and driving skills are far from normal.
