I have a 93 maxima se.It`s ve30de runs great,except the noise it makes after warming up.It sounds like a lifter,but i`m not sure.When i first start it up,no noise.When i get to where i`m going it`s off about thirty minutes.When i start it ,it really taps.This will go on for a couple of minutes,and then all is quite.Sometimes it taps loud and sometimes not as loud.Are they anyay i can stop this without a teardown??

Look into the vtc's. You can start by getting the Toyota filter # from the stickies. Try that with an oil change. If it doesn't help, live with it until you can fix them or ground them(procedure in stickies). Have fun with it.
