What's a good rotor for the R4S? And, where could I purchase the rotor and the Porterfields?

BTW- How much are they? Thanks for any input=)

answers...

you can only purchase porterfield pads directly from them. I don't have the phone number with me, but I've got the catalog at work.

the rotos I would recommend are:
Bendix (good performance, ~$80/pair),
Brembo/stillen crossdrilled (looks, performance, prone to warpage if you heat/cool too quickly, ~$160-180/pair),
Porterfield (solid rotor, good performance, less prone to warping, $120/pair, can get crossdrilled (additional $50each, and/or cryo treated- $40 each),
or Powerstop drilled rotors.. basically the same price/performance/problems as the Stillen rotors.

I have the Stillen/brembo rotors on my car and have completely smoked one set of pads on them before, with no warpage or anything.. they still run great, even after 10,000 miles. (some people have severely warped theirs in 8,000miles.. dunno how)

the above numbers are the closest guesses I can remember. they should be withint 10-20 $, but I'm no positive on actual cost.

the pads themselves run $89/set for the R4S. the R4 and R4E are both $139.

the part number for FRONT Max brakes are AP-430 for Porterfield pads, and JBR-505 for Porterfield Rotors.

I would also highly recommend purchasing stainless steel braided lines, at least for the front, if not all the way around.

porterfield's website is http://www.porterfield-brakes.com.. you can get much of the information there, but they don't have a listing for Rotors on the Max. I have a catalog at work, and the rotors and part # are listed there.

hope that helps.
