Starting problem maybe transmission??

Recently i have noticed that my car some times does not start right away, inorder to get it to start i put shifter into to the #1 position and then move it back to Park and then it will start. i think that the computer thinks it is in gear because all of my accessories come on and i can't hear the injectors clicking. has any one had this happen to them, is there a fix for a sensor or something?
thanks, josh

your neutral safety switch is possibly misaligned.
try starting the car in neutral or pushing the shifter forward when you're trying to start

It's definitly your shift cable bushings. there is one at both ends of the shift cable. One is located above the cat. converter heat shield, and the other is where the cable meets the tranny. Replace both.

Like I said, its the nylon bushing, they brake and can fall off the car. Its not the switch.
