Does 230 Miles On One Tank In A 93 GXE Sound Right?

I wanted to know wat the VG GXE engine should be gettin as far as mpg. Is it 19 city and 28 highway? I am mostly doing city/mid highway driving and I got 230 miles on one tank of Premium which is mostly put in this car. Does this sound right or is somthing wrong thanks

well you probably filled with about 15 gallons, so that does put the mileage on the low side.
of course the fact that it's winter doesn't help much

The o2 sensor is the lil plug on the y pipe (wsp) right? the lil cord/plug on the pipe. Does 79 bucks sound right for a 02 sensor, this is on Advanced Auto Parts site.

I wish I pulled off that much.......and that's even after a NEW 02 sensor. I'm lucky if I get 250 as well. I did however pull off around 400 or so woth all freeway driving last weekend

Time to do a checkup on u sensors, change distr cap, wires, plugs...

Knock Sensor dead? Try to bypass it with .5Mohm resistor...

I get the worst mileage of any max I know.
I'm currently at 70miles and only a bit above half a tank remaining

I used to be able to get awesome mileage, but now I'm getting meh mileage. I dont know if it is winter or what. Driving style is more highway ish, not 100% though. We'll see. I have a feeling that one of my calipers is sticking though :-/

A lot depends on your driving habits. When I lead foot it, I get about 230 miles to a tank. If I take it easy, I'll be closer to 300. When my wife drives my Max, she'll get close to 320. Nuts to being conserative.

Wiking you're familiar with european measurments, does 12 litres / 100km sound right to you? That's during 'normal' city driving, whatever qualifies as normal (I'm aware my right foot has a brick underneath!)

Well that was actually when the tranny was still working, now with it past it's best days it goes about 20L / 100km.

I am currently right on the halfway mark and I have 202 miles so far. After I dropped in a new air filter last week, I have noticed significantly higher mileage. THe old one wasn't that bad either.

Yes, thats on city, 10km trips =cold engine all the time... But. This engine really sucks gas if u start to enjoy (does not even mean police interest), also chassis is heavy.

Papa inisist he got 8.5L/100km on highway, = he's not passing cars. That needs steady gas to keep the tranny lock on. (Sometimes maybe does not lock on easily?). Just under ten has been my best. Maybe the KS has been long halfdead?

My tranny slip is history, reason: all connector clean!

I think now there's NEW significant a drop:
1. Installed KS bypass by resistor [funny word is that---> in stalled]
2. Nissan air filter trashed, Fram is in... I drive nowadays so little that hard to tell...

tops my tank will take is 15 gallons, and if it did, it would mean that my fuel guage was 1/8 of an inch below the bottom line. doesn't seem right for an 18 gallon tank. i hope i don't have 3 gallons worth of sludge in there or something

When I refuel, I usually put in about 14 gallons, and get about 240-260 miles per tank. This is with quite a bit of city driving, maybe 150 miles city, 100~ highway.

Probably needs a new O2 sensor. I have this planned for my max.

good thinking, might as well save yourself the problematic incident.

edit: wait, that would be the mass air flow sensor, which makes your car drive like **** right?

damn I wish we had your gas prices here...

in sweden the price for 1 litre (premium?) 95 octane gas is about $1.45 at shell. that'd be $5.49 per U.S gallon. what's the price over there?

I used to get only 220-230 per 15 gal. Bad/old o2 sensor.

With the new engine and mods, I get over 300 per 15 gal.

This is the slogan of our welfare state: Love thy Taxes.

Welfare state: selected few fare well (at *1Cayman islands).

There is not one single law which does not aim directing flow behind the scenes to the common*1 cause.

One note to those not familiar with the autotranny: gears 3&4 lock on highway speeds when using steady gas. This lock will not come on if gaspedal is being pumped and will unlock on kickdown. It may also be broke and cause 10% increase on highway.

I waz told that my O2 is fine. I got 230 to 240 on my last tank of gas from FULL to EMPTY. Everyone seems to be getting about 300 miles on one tank. It has also been very cold lately could that effect the MPG? I do accelerate hard at times(4500 to 5500 rpms) and do mostly city driving which isnt faster then 50mph. So wat might my problem be?
