New car system
First let me start by saying . i know nothing about car stereos, but can learn quickly. I though i would ask the people at this forum first since they know about maximas.
I am thinking about the following setup:
Sony CDX-F7005X deck
Infinity Kappa 462.5cfp front
Sony XS-V1635X back
what kind of speaker wire should i replace my stock wires with. Or its not really that necessary to replace the wires. Is it hard to replace the wires or can i just tie the new wire to the old wire and pull it to receiver. If i should change the wire..what gague wire should i use. Thanks any help is greatly appreciated.

First of all STAY AWAY FROM SONY! They are not known for good CD Players, Speakers etc. in the mobile audio world. My reccommendation for CD Player would be some type of an Alpine or a Pioneer or even a Kenwood Elecon(sp?). Your front speakers are an excellent choice, if those are component speakers (aka a woofer and tweeter) then you'll want to get an external amplifier to help them to thier full potential. I would go with the same (INFINITY) in the back for those also.
you wont need to change the wires to get great sound although it would help i dont remember seening anyone with that done. If u got anymore questions click on my name and send me a PM. Later, hope this helped

wow thanks for the quick help. i see sony has the same rep in every field. i have decided to go w/ the
PIONEER TS-A1780R rear speakers
Pioneer DEH-P7700MP head
its roughly the same price as the sonys. And its ok to keep the same speaker wires. Dont i need to check the resistance of the speaker and match it up w/ a gauge depending on the length of the wire.

The speakers will come with some wires in the box, all you have to do is match up the positive and negative from your old speaker wire to your new speaker wire( which will be like 8 inches long) and the new speaker wire will have connections on it that like slide onto your speaker. Pretty easy and quick job.

so basically ..the speaker wire is not necessary to change. i just dont want any sound lose. Also will the base be all right w/ this setup...i dont want to make my rearview mirror to fall off, but i do want some decent base.

Speaker wire should be fine, especially only running deck power, plus it saves a ton of work.
If I were you I'd get a small 8 or 10 inch sub and a small amplifier and lose the back speakers. You'll get way better bass and the front sound will actually be better.

I've never had trouble with my sony speakers... as for your mirror rattling... regular speakers probably wont do that. I have two tens and im pushing about 700 watts and my mirror doesnt rattle too bad.

The most important thing is to make sure componets
match.By this I mean the deck should be able to power
the front &/ or rear speakers. Also the same for amps and subs.
Speakers can be able to handle a little more power than the amp
can provide not the other way around.
I don't know much about Sony stero equipment. I'm partial to
JVC head units.

There's one weird thing I have noticed the entire 8 years I've been doing stereo work. When someone has a bad experience with one product line of company, that entire company's line is $hit!
Not so!
Alpine makes awesome decks, but you can find better than their subs. It's all trial and error. I know some people who will say Pioneer is worthless as well. They have just that one bad experience with the product, and never stop to think that it might be just a problem with that one particular unit.
There are some companies that put out nothing but junk, and those can easily be spotted. Find what you want, and try it. It's an expensive way, but no matter which way you go, it will always end up being expensive at the end.

Personally, I would not touch Sony car audio stuff with a 10 foot stick. Just stay away.
I have found for the price bracket, you cannot beat Infinity Reference speakers. If you run Kappa's you are really going to want an amp to push them. I would use 6.5" speakers front and use 6x9's in the rear, hopefully you have the factory Bose.
For the deck, Alpine, Eclipse, Kenwood, and Pioneer all are nice. Personally I have a Eclipse 5423 and I am extremely happy with it. I prefer Alpine and Eclipse myself, but really just go play around with them in the stores and see what you like
I ran 12 gauge wires to all my speakers. I used the factory wiring in my last car and didn't have any trouble, but this time I just wanted to be thorough this time. Heck I have a 4 gauge power and 3 pairs of RCAs going to the trunk and I dont think they will be used anytime soon

I have a JVC H/U with Clarion all the way around. And have no problem out of either... well almost no problem... I get bored sitting at stop lights and I sit there and play with the battery tray to the JVC Remote, and also play with the engine RPMs. For some reason gas doesn't last too long in my car, and my battery holder falls out of the remote, but I have no idea why... LOL
