I had a race with a contour se. I just turn from a stop light. He was behind me so she switch to the right lane. I knew i was going run with the contour if he pass me. That';s what he did. So i step on the gas and so did he. we were going at it. I turn off my overdrive and floored it. I started to fall back just alittle. For about a 1/4 he could keep up so he quit. I tell you guys it was a close race. I just have a cone for my mod.

Yeah, those are quick. Prior to my Max, I had a 96' Contour. Even participated in their BBS. Prior to the demise of the car, I was considering an SVT.

Contour SE fast? From the numbers Ive seen it runs like 17.2?

In this apartment complex I used to live in, this guy had an SVT Contour. Wow that was a sweet lookin car. Dual exhaust, ground effects...that car was nice!

I didn't say it was fast, I said quick, as in acceration and off the line in general. When I first got my 4cyl., I raced a Legend, 3series Beemer (don't remember which one), and something big n' old w/ 8cyl. Most of the trip was driver skill. The BMW had his girl w/ him, so I think she may have made him back off a bit. Later, when the new Cougar came out a new V6 game me a hard time. Again driver skill, and better road knowledge prevailed.
