falty trunk latch ?help?

92se, the electronic trunk "pop".. it works fine but the latch it-self sticks and doesnt let the trunk pop open when the button is pressed.. The trunk key doesnt turn either... If i crawl into the trunk (via rear seats..lol) i can pull the bottem part of the latch (car part, not trunk lid part) up and then the switch to open the truck will let it pop open.

anyone ever have this problem?
thanx for any info.

i know how i did this yesterday... I am going to be talking about the latch on the trunk lid part. There is a little post sticking down which the switch hits and opens. Mine wasn't working because it was to skinny, so I just stuck a piece of rubber hose tightly over it and the trunk pops beautifully. Try it out.

My car history to 60k contains only this 'fault', x2. It was never fixed by stealership. (Manual wire -type.)

Not 'repaired' as this latch function is a feature: Two positions where the other one does not allow access to trunk by pressing this cabin lever.

Neither can thieves easily get there, they have to break the lock.

Driver is supposed to push that trunk lock lever in that off -position and give the stealership that THIRD Maxima red key which does not fit the trunk. Hereby the reliable service personnel has no acces to the trunk... eh do they trust their servicemen...
