Magazine Articles/Review ft. 3rd Gen

Is there any site out there that has some (or all) of the articles from '89-'94 from car magzines (Car and Driver, Motor Trend, Road and Track, etc.) that feature the Maxima, or stuff like comparison tests?

Any help would be great...

It had test of 1989-1994 Maxima's in road tests and comparisions from Car and Driver. I threw them away, although now I regret I did so as I have a 3rd gen.

could you give me the year and month of that one?

I have:

Motor Trend, Oct. 1991 (Road Test)
Car and Driver, Nov. 1991 (Road Test)
Car and Driver, Aug. 1992 (SHO vs Camry SE vs Maxima SE)

I found them at a used magazine shop. Most towns have them, it just takes a little time and effort.

I always wondered whos faster, a VG or those mid-90's style Camry V6's. Always wanted to race one.

I think both of those 3VZ-FE 92-93 and 1MZ-FE 94-96 (same body style) Camry's would be quicker than a stock VG30E

I have a 1989 Popular Science magazine that has an article comparing the "Brand New, redesigned Nissan Maxima" with the big Toyata at the time, the Cressada. It has been discontinued. The Toyato actaully looks like the 1-2nd gen Maxima, boxy. However, the Toyota is smaller than the older Max's. This is of course due to the Luxory tax stamped on every vehicle over a certain size in Japan. The 3rd gen Max required this tax. I found it interesting that the Cressada came with a 190hp inline 6cylinder. I figured that is what prompted Nissan to come out with the upgraded VE to compete. Of course, the Maxima won out overall. I'll see if I can find it. I'm in the middle of having a new home built and will have to search through some stored boxes.

My friend drives a 95 v6 Camry and it feels like it has more torque in lower RPMs from my unofficial butt dynos whenever I ride in his car.

You're probably right, cuz the VE torque curve looks like this from 1000-2500 RPM: _|

I'd like it to go: / more.

But I'll still take a 3G Max over a 3G Camry any time. Besides, the 3G Camry design is a Maxima rip-off.
