Light in trunk

Light in trunk
I'm trying to take out the light in my trunk so that I can use the wires to hook up a neon light, but I can't seem to get it to pop out. Do I need to remove the rear deck to get it out or do you think I should just break it??

With the rear seats it has a hook that holds it in, if you just pull on the bottom right and left corners of the bench part that will come out, then there are three hooks at the top of the back rest. Seriously i would take your time and do your trunk light right.

it says you have an SE so you shouldn't have a 3rd brake light on the back deck (only GXEs would have those)
either way, if you're talking about that light, it has two plastic trim pieces on the side. You can push in at the center of the circular piece and then pull it out. Then the whole housing will come off.

Yeah that is the one (inside the trunk) that I was talking about. And thatback seat is not coming out for anything. Me and my brother tryed to get it out and he's a big guy...about 6'3" 260 (mostly muscle) and I'm about 5'8" 180 (all muscle) and both of us togetther could not get it out.

I finished my little project and I would not recommend it to anyone I bought a Pilot LED light for my trunk and it is so dim that you can barely see it. Maybe it'll look better at night or maybe I just need to get neon instead.
