1992 Maxima SE wheel question

I know this is kind of a bad way to start posting at maxima.org, as i could probably research this with a little bit of time and effort on my own. But, as you will know in just a minute, I'm currently in Iraq, and i don't have time to look it up. I was curious as to the best wheel and tire combinations....in the 18 inch range....sizes and all Such as 18 x 7.5, 45mm offset, 5 lugs 114.5, etc. etc. then, if i were to get the 18 inch wheels, what tires would i have to put on there to compensate, for speedometer reasons?
Like i said, sorry to post something that i could probably find out on my own, but liek i said, my time is limited here, and so are resources. If anyone would be of some help, it would be greatly appreciated.

oh and if you want tires for 18x7.5, i think its 225/40/18 that you want.

I think the "perfect" offset for a 7.5 wheel is 35mm. With that you are able to run a 235/40 on an 18 and 235/45 on a 17...these sizes are the closest to factory size.

I may be a little off on the offset but I "think" I am right.

you are correct about my wheels but I am not sure about the 7.5 and 42 fitting with 225s. My tires are really close to the strut with the 7" wide wheel.

you mean 7.5" wheels with 42mm offset right?

Like I said I know a 7" wheel with a 42mm offset fits with 225 but the tire is close to the strut so the 7.5 might rub.
