9004 and HID
I am curious to know how many members have installed 9004 HID's into their stock housings. More so I am looking for pictures (beam pattern). I attempted the e36 upgrade a couple years back, but decided not to go through with it. I manufactured a harness w/ heavier gauge wires, which definately helped with wattage and light output. Even though, I still have visibility issues at times. I have read up on the 9007 upgrade and converted my 9004's, but I wasn't real happy with the results. I may end up going back to 9007's after I removed them. So I was looking into HID. Any input is greatly appreciated.

well hids are gonna be super bright. go test drive a new maxima or altima and youll see what im talkin about. its nice real nice. 9007 are brighter than 9004, so why go back?
and if you do the e36 conversion like i have you will notice a large difference as well since the headlights on our maximas arent that great. you could even do projectors for better brightness.

Thanks for the reply tripleGmax. I have 9004's in right now, I was merely saying I was going back to 9007's. Not vice-versa. There were a few reasons why I didn't go through with the e36's. 1. I love my Maxima the way it is, if I wanted e36's, I'd buy an e36. 2. I am very picky about what I do to my car, and I can't bring myself to mutilating my car for them. Thanks for the input.

True, but HID's in the high beams are extremely bad. Our pupils don't dilate to that color of the light spectrum. This causes serious blindness, day or night. Ever notice when a set of HID's bounce from road imperfections, the light flashes really abruptly. They would be awesome to have though.

I had the McCulloch kit, I got it REALLY cheap on ebay and couldnt pass it up.
I only recall one time the entire time I had the lights that I wished the highbeams were intact -- Driving on a curvy road in the middle of the night with no moon out; and even then I just pulled over and adjusted the lights up to where your average halogens would be. I had the HID's really low to minimize distraction to others.
