Brake Lights Spazzing

I have a '91 GXE. When I step on the brakes, my lights come on, but only the left side of the lights. The brake lights in my window are fine. So after checking the bulbs, they all work. I noticed other maximas with the same problem. Sometimes different bulbs, but same idea. At night, my tail lights work fine, but when i step onthe brake, the lights move around and become brighter/dimmer in different spots. Does anyone know of what could be causing this? thanks!

the sockets Nissan used in our tail lights are crap. they made one of the pieces out of soft plastic and they get softer when the lights get hot.. what happens is the contacts are pressed onto the bulb by a spring on the other side of said plastic. when the plastic deforms, the contacts lose pressure against the bulb and begin to flicker or stop working.

you can buy replacement sockets at most auto parts stores for about $3 each. you'll need to know how to use a soldering iron, or at least have a set of wire crimpers and a bag of butt connectors. I highly recommend soldering, but you can do it with butt conns..

if that's the passenger side do you want to sell it. I see it is missing reflectors. I bought a nice used one today and it's for a 93, won't fit. I have a 90.

that's actually a brand new part made by motormite, I don't stock it.
I'd have to call the warehouse for a price
