whats that funny metal thing in the last 3 pictures?? you need some speaker wire. to bypas the front amps is easy, but get high pass filters for the front channels. the bose speaker are 2 ohm and they will hurt your head unit. you also have to take apert the entire pod that the front speakers are in to by pass

yeah theres an adapter, for them, mine had the same plugs i think, but it was a cable and not all sophisticated. Does your deck have a sub output or is it just the 2 preamps.

I think that isn't the right adaptor. The 2 prongs should be male. I got my adaptor at vircuitcity for $12. I'd also advise getting some new 4" speakers. I just put in a Pioneer HU and didnt change the front speakers and the radio would keep cutting out at low volumes. I bought a couple 4" Pioneers from Walmart for $40 and the problem stopped!

those two prongs are male. i had an adaptor for my stereo, but it was a cable as well. im pretty sure the adaptor works like so. you have a antenna cable already coming in with two prongs, so you want a female two prong to a one prong male. that is if your head unit is a one prong, cant tell its hard to see. where did you get that adaptor. I got mine from crutchfield because of a really nice discount i worked out and it included the antenna adaptor and wiring harness FREE.

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Rd2ylan...sp?i=12040NI10

this is the one you want.
and dont run the stock speakers in front, thats a bad idea for your new head unit. blose and regular equipment run on diff ohms making it bad to run both. im sure someone will chime in and say they do it and havnt had a problem, but its not recommended at all.

I meant female, it was late when I posted that The one from the car is male, so the adaptor should be female. TripleG thats the one I have, also I'll chime in and say I did it and it was the worst thing I couldve done to my new HU!

you did what? lol the adaptor was the worst thing? mine seems to be working great. what happened to yours?

edit: after reading what you wrote i see, i think you mean you ran the front speakers(bose) with aftermarket HU. gotcha.......atleast now you know and im sure those wally world speakers do the job

chiming in: yes, I do that...I bypass the amps for the rear but not for the front. personally, I think they sound really really good and I have been using them for three years with no problems. just set up the balance in your HU so the front and rear sound even and you won't have any problems...it will also save you some time.

just curious: why would it be bad for the HU?

from what I understand most HU are ment to power 4ohm speakers, the Bose are 1ohm and require a lot of power to make them work, so they are drawing more wattage than the HU can supply.

RamJetMax: I think it will make your HU amp (built in) work too hard and eventually kill it or atleast only produce soft bass.

well i got everything installed. i added an amp to the setup too(425w). when i turn on my radio it plays and theres this high pitch noise... it seems to be tuned to my RPMs lol. when i rev it the pitch gets higher etc. Also my speakers always have a low pitch humming or buzzing sound. does that mean theyr blown? :'( i dont see how they could be, i didnt even turn em up real high.

sounds like a grounding problem to me. They make filters that should take care of that I think. It should hook up to the amp ground wire but dont quote me on that.

check all grounds make sure they are on nice cleaned metal, not painted metal....now are your wires for your amp and sub running to the back side by side? if so cleaning your grounds might not completely fix this problem, because you got what they call alternator whine (i think) whine to the rpms....make sure amp wires run down one side of car, and sub on another(atleast thats what i was told)

hope this helps

well i would do that, but im not usung a sub. i just have the amp setup for my 6x9s. well the ground is one problem because now that i think of it, it is on painted metal so ill go fix that and ill let you guys know whats goin on.

Edit: although i did put the battery+ down the drivers side of the car and the RCA from head unit(Monster) down the middle. i also have the Remote whatever wire that goes to the amp going down along side the Monsters.

edit: which two wires of the four that go into the bose amps would i use to just connect to the speakers (without aftermarket amp)

well dont you have an amp on the hu? i know your ext. amp is prolly better, but clean up the grounds, i usually use a spot that is already a ground(atleast up front) in the back make sure your ground is clean and that its not a long **** cable, make it short.

the smaller size wires are for the speakers, the bigget ones are for the bose amps. i would suggest moving your remote wire (the one runnin with the rca's) with the power wire. and what size gauge wire are you using.

need help, i installed my kenwood kdc-128 cd-reciever and connected the colored wires to the proper colors...i also connected the power antenna wires also and the antenna adapter but when i turn on my headunit the antenna won't go up and no sound can be heard from the speakers no matter how loud i turn the volume, btw i have aftermarket speakers but i wont install them until i get my HU and everything else working properly...someone help, i just spent a total of $315 on HU, wiring and speakers and this is a waste right now. the antenna adapter i have is the same on from post 7 listed in the crutchfield site.

first install the aftermarket speakers, but make sure you bypass the amps.
I'd double check the antannae power connection myself.
