intalling E36 lights

I need help installing the BMW e36 headlights. I tried to use the instructions by SkyMax (found on the angelfire website), but there aren't any step-by-step pictures to go with the instructions. Can anyone help me out with some pics?

Read it again, it's the best resource. ALot of it is common sense... cutting metal out to make room.

With the Cefiro install I have no installation instructions nor pictures. But I now have basically no metal on my passenger side radiator support. Driver's side will get done sometime this week when the weather clears.

Now for some helpfull advice.

Take the stock headlight out then place the E36 headlight in. Find an area that is restricting you from placing the headlight in cut or make an adjustment then you're straight. That's the best info because you endup doing that anyway.

Another thing to make it easy is to take your time and be patient, like work on it some and then when you get frustrated go watch TV or do something else for awhile. Once you get mad at those headlights you can break bolts, rip out too much metal and only make things worse.

My install took me almost two whole days to complete. Mostly because it was my first time attempting something like this, but I got it done and I think it came out pretty good at the time it was done (now it needs a little work for the covers to stay on). But yeah, take your time. The instructions are pretty good, there are some things that you just have to kinda figure out for yourself when you get there.

I only looked at the instructions to see if it was worth the trouble, after that I just freestyled, mainly because only one other person on here has the E36's I have that I know of. Best advice I can give is cut a little bit at a time. its better to undercut than overcut. Oh yeah and be careful with your grill.

true true!! i made a mistake and overcut my grill. so i actually had to buy a new one. its not bad but if you look closely its not as straight as its suposed to be.

i didnt cut my grill, i meant to take it out for most of the fitment so you dont break the connections. And dont bend the part that holds the grill when you cut or your junk will be crooked, and its a biznatch to straighten.

I cut my grill a tad on the side to make it fit PERFECT. And it did... Till I started to redo my lights.
