For cleaning the MAF, carb cleaner?
I think my O2 sensor or my MAF might be failing.. I want to clean my MAF, but online the reccomendations say use carb cleaner for the wire mesh and a q-tip. Is that the best way? Also, for the wires, on the connectors are exposed (the plastic is off), should I clean that the same way?

For the electrical connections, I would just scrape off any corrosion on the prongs, and put a little dielectric grease on them and put it back together. As for the MAF being cleaned with carb cleaner, I cant be sure. Im not sure if the carb cleaner will be too harsh for it and maybe ruin it. If somebody else wants to shed some light on this feel free, cause i would like to know myself.

I don't reccomend cleaning the MAF with carb cleaner, it will damage the thin film resistor. Rubbing alcohol is much safer.
Performance degredation on the max has a lot to do with terminals corroding. A relatives lexas has gold plated contacts on all the sensors . Wish my max did.
