Tach Signal Wire (Remote Start)
I've had remote start for a while and have had problems with it for a while. I had I friend install the alarm/remote start for free so I a can't complain. First off, when I remote start it when the engine is cold it will start and run for about ten seconds and then shut off. It will do this about three times but it'll never stay running unless the engine is warm. I helped him install the remote start and I remember that he had trouble finding the tach signal wire.
I have my interior completely torn apart right now because I'm installing dynomat, dying my brown interior black, and I installed my new my guages. While it's all taken apart I dicided that I'm going to fix my remote start. I already made it so it won't start in gear by puting a diode between the hood pin wire and the brown nuetral safety wire. I'm now looking for the tach wire coming out of the ecu because my friend who installed it did get the wrong tach wire. I looked on craig brace's how to page and it says the wire is "GREEN/BLACK/SILVER" and it's location is "2ND OR 4 CONNECTORS AT ECCS, PIN 7*". Well I've found quite a few green/black/silver wires coming out of the ecu. I just don't know what the location stated on his site means. Can someone please help me out?

you can get a remote start to work without using tach. its called voltage sencing mode, basicly it sences when the voltage goes from 12.5 to 14 once the engines runing and the alternators charging
i have mine hooked up to an injector wire which also works fine but to test to see if the wire will work for tach use a miltimeter switched to AC voltage and the tach wire should read in the single digets with the engine idleing but when you give the car gas and the rpms increase the AC voltage should increas at least double or triple in higher rpms

There are three wires that are green/black/silver that are coming out of the ecu. One of them is probably the tach but I can't test them because my multimeter's battery is dead. I'll figure it out tomarrow.
Thanks
