exhaust size.

Re-doing my exhaust. Getting my wsp y-pipe and intake and replacing cat and all piping and muffler. Should I go with 2.25 piping or go 2.5. Please tell me of the plus and minus I may run into with each size and help my choice. I've read going to big is not good. Thanks.

I have 2.5 from the END of the cat and back. I noticed a bit of torgue loss, better throaty note from my g35 muffler, and when I downshift there isn't much resistance(I don't really slow down, the engine just revs up quick).

I ma not really an expert at any of the exhaust stuff all i know that the bigger the better. the 3" pipe does not do any good unless you are running turbo. But i was going with therealgoon9 but i dint know that you would lose torque by putting a better flowing exhaust system. could someone explain the concept to me.

There has to be some back pressure for an engine to perform right. If you have too little back pressure you sacrafice low end power for high and, and vice versa.

i gues that makes lot of sense. Then my next question would be the same as streetmax as to what size exhaust do you need that delivers both perfomace and a good sounding tone. And what size is on the stock maximas. I have the 92 VE. thanks in advance.

stock size is 2.0 I have a 2.25 and it seems to be a pretty good size, but most people go for a 2.5

I have 2.5" from the cat back... and didn't experience any torque loss. Also, I'd recommend Ravin for a good tone.

I have a magnaflow race series, you can see it on my car domain site, and i like it alot, it has a very nice sound to it. Way better than all the other V6's in the area.
