Help!!! black smoke, rough idle, studdering engine then dead

Help!!! black smoke, rough idle, studdering engine then dead

I changed my air intake and started driving..my car starts studdering, idle from 0 to 1k up and down, black smoke comming from the exhaust and then..when I go over 3k it dies..when i let off the gas..whats wrong here?

you screwed something up sounds like.

did you get your MAF plugged in? pointing the correct direction?
all vacuum hoses hooked up?

i dont konw about the smoke but when i put my cone filter on i forgot to cover the hole on the bottom of the tubing and my car would barely run and then die untill i covered it up

Sounds to me like you have a mass airflow sens problem

what hole on what tubing?

there is a hose comming from my tranny i dunno where it hooks up 2 thou.

I didnt even unplug the sensor, I just added the aluminum piece where the two hoses attach to, cut one of the hoses a bit cause it was 2 long and connected em.

then I started the car and it started idling rough, black smoke comming from the Y pipe section and muffler.

oh I took off the resonator also.

did you plug the resonator hole?? you said you started it and forgot to, so you plugged it up,, but this was after you started it right? im guessing your engine caught a nice suction of dirt and debris

no i changed it completely with a piece that only has the two holes 4 the two black hoses

No someone gace me an aluminum piece with the two holes, I removed the part with the resonator, attached the aluminum piece to the throttle body, connacted the MAF and the filter.

started the car up and whoola, trouble.

I couldnt get the sensor 2 disconnect after trying 2 pull it off so I never touched it.
