Totaled out my 1993 Se

Bad news three days ago. I totaled out my 93 Max!!
All my fault, I reared ended a Ford Ranger. Damage to the Ranger was only the rear bumper, my poor Max is a total loss, damage consists of the Hood, Fender, Both Headlights, Corner Light, Bumper, Grille and I bent the Core Support back afew inches. I took it to the body shop and they said the damage mounted to $3550 dollars! My insurance company said they would give me $2750 for them to take the car, or give me $2450 and I keep it, well it's a given I'm keepen the car. I beleive I'm going to rebuild it, I'm worried about the core support, it took a good hit to the hood release area, I think it would be easier to just replace the whole core.
I'm all sore all over, so it will be aweek or so before i get out in the garage and start tearing it down, I'll take some pics and up them so you can all see my pain!!
My question to you all, is the core supprt an easy fix? I see afew tac welds on both sides and nuts that need to come off!
I'm open to all opinions!
Cheers

Oh wow Triple, you've given me hope. Our wrecks are identical, I'd love to contact him to get some tips/ info on the fix! So if you know of his name on this site, I'd love to get a hold of him.
Thanks again!

******Update*****Update*****Update*****Update***** Update******
I got out into the garage yesterday and broke the car down to see if there was any hidden damage. I removed the fender, both headlights, bumper cover and one corner light, then took off to Pick_A_Part and bought-
2 Headlights $26.95 apiece
1 Fender $39.95 with $5 core exchange
1 Corner Light $9.95
I was really happy with the prices, you carn't beat it, if you don't mind taking your own tools and getting alittle dirty, this is the way to go!
I also bought a come-along and will pull the core radiator support out afew inches this weekend!

Anything is possible - as long as it's safe to rebuild. I did and it was also in much worse shape than your after sustaining a head-on collision @ 45mph. That was in 2001. The beast below lives on in glory!

Same D@mn Incident (Selling CAR!!)

Know the feeling but mine is worse. Get this, I'm pulling out of my neighborhood and I see 3 big bodies lined up going into some daycare. I look behind them and there is a red civic like 1/2 mile down. I stick my nose out to get a better look and didn't see anything. Then I look to my right and I am timing my turn. I merge out into the intersection and WHAM! big body 2004 Expedition hits my front clip. Sherrif told me if I would have pulled out sooner I would have been dead. But the funny thing is, is that I remember seeing those headlights about 4 inches away from my face. So now I am strippin the car and selling everything. WHO WANTS TO BUY!!!

Have some parts for sale. What do you need because I have it for that 92 Maxima.
-110K engine
-Leather seats (driver rip)(back MINT)
-Lights, Rims, Doors, Windows, SideViews, Rear View, ANYTHING!!!

Try posting in the parts section. I'm currently strapped for cash... otherwise I would buy a lot of stuff. There's always somebody looking for something on here.

On the Road Again!!!!!!!!!
I got my max ready for the road yesterday, the hardest part was aligning the grille into the Headlights. I ended up getting a gold Hood and gold bumper cover. Will have it painted later this month! If i knew how to post pics of the before and after I would.
Cheers

I can't seem to send you a private msg, maybe its because you're new here. Anywho, I'm interested in your leather seats, send me an email at turbobee@gmail.com with a price. I may fly/drive out to pick them up =)
