how can i make my corner lights brighter? that way during the day i can turn them on and they look at least FAIRLY bright instead of like a bulb getting ready to go out. i already replaced the bulbs with new ones (just regular bulbs from good ole wal-mart) and they don't look any different at all. thanks guys

Don't listen to DA-MAX... he's a Maxaholic..lol Anyway, I know this guy Craig B. who has a really good website that tells you how to re-wire your corner lights so they stay on bright all the time. Go to this link --> http://www.geocities.com/bracecraig/...ax_rewire.html

Brighter Corners

I was thinking about rewiring my corners too and those links really look as though they would help. But then someone told me that if you pulled out your bulbs and turn them half way around they will stay bright all the time. The bulbs (1157's) have little nubs on each side one is high and one is low. DCMax and I found that if you sand down the High nub a little then it will fit just fine. I found that with a little effort you can get them in without sanding, they just go in a little crooked but you really cant tell the difference. On DCMax's 4th gen we had to sand them down. I love it cuz now i can leave my driving lights on and they are so bright.

honestly, I think almost anyone could do the rewire in a matter of minutes; no more than 1/2 hour for a side.

as for the other method, it will work if you're not into rewiring stuff, but it's almost as much of a pain if you have to sand down the nubs

either way works though

Soon2BMaxed - The thing with turning the bulb does work. It has worked on both my 3rd gen and DCMax's 4th gen. I will try to write up some better instructions tonite and put them up. But I found its much better then cutting wires. Because if you ever want to change it back you just turn your bulbs back around. And you dont have to sand it for the 3rd gen as much as for the 4th gen. It took about 3 min to sand them and turn them around.

DA-MAX - That wasnt me @ Metro, I wanted to go but got stuck out with my gf. I am from Northern VA, in Fairfax. DCMax and I were planning on goin, but we'll be there next time. I'll try to get a pic of mine up soon. No decals on my car cept a small VT sticker. Where you from?????

hey FFxMax how far around do u have to turn the bulbs? do u HAVE to sand them down? i just snipped the higher nub off with some wire cutters but how do u turn it around if the lower nub still catches on it's little guard?

Snipping off the nub will work too. Turn the bulb 180 Degrees. The bulb will kinda be in crooked but stays just fine. When you turn it around, the bottom nub will go into the top hole, and the top nub will go into the bottom hole, but i believe that this is where the problem occurs because the top nub wont want to go down to the bottom hole, so the top one just hangs out the top of the whole connector. For our Max's we don't have to sand, cut or mod the bulb in any way, I only had to do that for a DCMax's 4th gen. Does this make more sense???

Turning method.

All I did was take the bump or the thingy sticking out from the side and used a nail clipper to cut the top one off. After I clipped the top notch off I just put it in and Voila I have brighter side markers.

Yep. Takes very little time --> with nice and safe results.

Listen to the man (Craig B.) and do what you're told.
