Axle Question

I know it has been asked before in some way shape or form and Im sorry, but Im a poor college student and really cant spare the money for the searching right now. Anywho, my question is.....Im in the process of removing the axles from my VE5, but Im not sure exactly what comes out on the pass side. Is it just the shaft from boot-to-boot or the whole shaft including the equal length shaft (I think its called) coming directly out of the tranny???? Im not sure because I checked Autozone.com and they were giving directions for an automagic, and were sayin to take out the whole thing including the equal length (again I think thats what its called) shaft. I just wanted to make sure so if anybody can help me out I would really appreciate it. Also pics would be awsome too. Thanks

First off, yes you need to pull the whole thing out. You need to remove the 3 12mm bolts on the passenger axle bearing (in between the trans and wheel).
Secondly if you are thinking of getting a remanufactured axle for a VE I would highly recomend rebuilding it yourself. I tried 3 different reman axles (all the wrong size) before I finaly just rebuilt my own. Not that hard and only cost about $40.

yeah I have helped rebuild one wit a friend of mine before. Thanks for the info though. Im not too happy about removin the whole thing but I guess I have to. I was questioning cause I did take out those bolts but it seems to be siezed in there where those bolts are and I wasnt sure if I was tuggin at the right part. Thanks again.
