I took my K & N air filter off to clean it after only like 6000 miles and noticed a hole in the top on the side facing the front tire. I wonder if this is from water and dirt spraying from my tire or did it dry out causing the intake to suck it apart? is this really the best place for cold air return? how can i make it better? did i get a bad filter? how far do you put your filter on the pipe, half way, right on edge, almost all the way? could this hole have damaged my engine? i patched it with some resin and cotton. and put it on like before.
