High Pressure Power Steering Hose

I just picked up a high-pressure power steering hose from the wreckers which looked quite new. If I buy new copper gaskets, am I generally okay re-installing a used hose that is in good shape or is it one of those items that you should always buy new?

One thing I hate about wreckers is ****ing people coming up to you asking to borrow this tool and that tool.

I had one before and it worked just fine (as long as it is in good working condition).

Bend it and seek for cracks. The risk is only gettin a leak; compare that with u worktime and all harm it can cause to a new hose price. Anyways it'll be better than the one it replaces...

If youre building a flawless vehicle for next ten yrs, all rubber is gonna be new.

Start tool rental... or close your toolbagi

u'll be fine with what u got from the wrecker. as long as it seems to be in good shape ur car won't leak P/S fluid. but in my case i would buy it brand new but i can c that sometimes that doesn't always happen so u gotta get with how much u have in ur pocket.

i would have rather used a hose from the junker, i am cheap.
but i ended up buying a new one for ~$80.
let me tell you, i wish i would have changed it sooner, all that fluid spewing out really did a number on the bushings on that side. bushings gone = click-clack/bad steering.

A new one should only be $34. Why did you spend $80?

the price was high, autozone rips it to ya.
i have no better explanation.
can only deal with leaking dexron fluid so long,
the stuff eats rubber like candy.
