Exhaust studs +++

I know that this has been mentioned one thousand times but I still have questions, I am tring to change exhaust studs on my car. A little background is in order, Yes I have read the stickies. To be honest, I would not even own this car if it was not for guys like: Craig, Jeff, MrGone, internetmart, etc. but they have given me hope. I am still not sure that it is a good thing, however, I am in the process of changing my clutch and believe it or not I looked up and sure enough, two of my exhaust manifold studs are broke. I know how to fix the problem but I am looking for help on how everyone else would do it. Yes, I do understand how the exhaust works but I am looking for all the help I can get. I have removed both axles and the upper intake manifold. Now, i need to figure out if anyone else has been in this position. The rear exhaust manifold bolts have been removed but I did forget to remove the EGR pipe on the manifold side. I need help. I know that this will be easier with the car tore apart like I have now. I am currently planning on removing the rear studs until I can get the car put back together, then I will do the front studs.

I remved my egr on the intake manifold side. I honestly dont understand what you are asking here though since ther eis no real question.

If you woudl have read my post from like yesterday you owuld have read how I ddi mine and it turned out perfect.Use a mig welder and build them up until you can weld a nut onto them then they will spin right out.If you do not have a mig welder,well fidn someone that does or that can do that job for you pretty cheap.

Yeah, I didn't really ask a question. I guess it was late and I was just frustrated. What I was getting around to was that I am in the process of removing the transmission when I found this. What are the options when replacing the studs with the transmission out of the car. I don't think the the engine will have enough support without the tranny mounts to remove the crossmember and loosen the rear motor mount. Thoughts?

Read my post, I put a board on the bottom of the oil pan and supported the engine w/ a 3-ton jack and 2 jackstands.

at this point...it might be easier to get a crane/cherry picker and pull the motor out a little and drill/weld/tap/grind/etc from above the engine bay.

actually i used a board on the poil pan for mine too since i foudn the motor dropped too much.. might be easier if you used jack stands and a jack since you could tilt your motor back to get at things easier

expensive to say the least,call aorund and get some quotes or try to find some mechanic that even does work at home afterhours for cash, it is a long dirty job.. parts dont cost much but the labour is the killer.
