Exhaust manifold warpage?

If u suspect, take into machining shop for evaluation. Warped exhaust manifold will not last long before leaking.

Is it possible a warp stud can cause a stud to break, yes it's possible
How likely that's what caused your broken stud, not likely
I think a excessively warp manifold will cause more problems before breaking a stud. Problems like blowing out the exhaust manifold gasket, engine performance, etc. If your new studs did break I'm curious to know how long have the studs been in?

I've put a straight edge on all my exhaust manifolds from engines that have had/had not broken studs. None of them were warped. I in fact have not even read about someone actually having a warped one.
But I do suspect that as the manifold heats up it expands and gets WIDER (not warping), then contracts (shrinks). The seems to bend the stud back/forth until one day it just breaks. One can only bend a wire so many times before it will fatique and break. That's my idiot theory anyway. Would kinda explain why the outer most studs seem to break frist.
