Suspension swap oddity?

Hey all,
Just finished changing out the stock struts with new KYB's and ran into what might be a concern. (though i'm not sure, hence I'm asking).
The first three went as smooth as I could expect, however when installing the fourth (drivers side - front) completed assembly, the final two bolts were sitting about 5 inches below control arm mount (i guess you'd call it that). Anyway, I had to push down pretty damn hard on the CV area just to get it all to line up. Is this normal? Isn't this bad for the CV joint? Opinions? Ideas? Experiences?

Were you pushing on the hub to line up the 2 big strut bolts? If so, you probably didn't do any harm unless you popped an axle boot off. All thats in those axles are little gears and some metal ***** n stuff (I forget kind of), but nothing fragile that pulling on it would break. I had to pry on the hub and use a jack to push up in the bottom of the strut tower when i swapped suspensions from my wrecked SE.

My alignment is pretty whack now though, so besides alignment issues (which you should get your car aligned) I doubt anything bad happened.
